Exciting Casino Changes in Edmonton and Area:

St. Albert’s Apex Casino is being bought by multinational Century Casinos Inc. for $28 million. Century casino has purchased the business for $15.9 million plus $12 million for the real estate, pending approval.

Century, which is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, also owns Century Casino Edmonton, Century Calgary and Century Downs.

Baccarat Casino, soon to be Grand Villa Casino Edmonton, is 75% finished. Grand Villa is the most upscale brand of Gateway’s to date. The opening date is set for January 2016. There will be 60,000 square feet of entertainment space for 24 gaming tables and 600 slot machines. The focus will be on live entertainment and dining, as much as gaming.

Palace Casino, soon to be Starlight Casino Edmonton, is under construction and will be a more modern and futuristic brand for Gateway. Starlight is due to open early next year.
